What AI visibility means
AI visibility shows how many important AI bots can actually fetch the page without running into crawling or indexing restrictions.
- 85-100: the page is easy for AI systems to access
- 45-84: some bots can access it, but important limits remain
- 0-44: access or reuse is likely restricted
Where to look first
If robots.txt allows access but the bot receives 403, 429, or a timeout, the issue is usually infrastructure rather than SEO settings.
- Check CDN, WAF, firewall, and bot protection rules
- Make sure GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and similar user agents are not filtered
- Review rate limits, geo rules, JavaScript challenges, and security challenges
What to fix first
Start with issues that stop bots from receiving the page at all. Indexing directives matter after the bot can fetch the URL.

AllowedThe bot can fetch the page and robots.txt does not block crawling.
LimitedThe page loads, but meta tags or HTTP headers may limit indexing, snippets, or reuse.
BlockedThe bot cannot fetch the page because of the HTTP response, site protection, or robots.txt.
